How to use Mobile Phone as Webcam

Mobile Phone as Webcam

In this article, I will show you, how you could use your smartphone as a webcam for your pc and laptop. As almost everyone taking their class online due to COVID-19, I hope this is very helpful for everyone.  Secondly, the camera on your phone is probably better than the webcam that we use with desktops or built-in laptops.

Cameras we use with desktops or in most laptops have low resolution as compared with mobile phones.

Converting your smartphone to a webcam for your desktop is very simple and free as well.  Let’s start by going to install two different apps one on our pc and then one on our phone.  It supports all types of OS, doesn't matter if you're using Windows.

Let’s get started, just follow the given steps.

Step 1:

Open a website in your browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox etc) https://iriun.com just like the given image.

Just click on your concerned operating system.  It will start downloading, as I am using Windows 10, I will show the Windows 10 installation.  As soon download is finished just install the IRIUN software by just clicking Next and Next.

As soon you install there will be an icon on the desktop.

Step 2:

Now unlock your smartphone (iPhone or Android) and open the concerned app store.  As I am using an iPhone 7, so I click on App Store.  Then open the search by clicking the search icon at the bottom left corner.  Type Irium and you will see the Irium app at the top, click on install.

There is only one thing you should remember that both PC and Smartphone should be on the same network or Wifi.

As soon you open both the Iriun application on your mobile and PC it will automatically start showing your mobile cam.

That’s all now you can use your mobile as webcam in any application like Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Class etc.
