Components of Computer Networking Explained!

Computer Networking Components

The “Computer Networking Components” means, the Components are required to do the “Computer Networking” in your Computer. First, you need some Computers to do the “Computer Networking”. Then, you need some “Computer Components” to be connected to each other with the “Computer Networking Components” in your Computer. Without “Computer Networking Components”, you can not establish “Computer Networking” for your Computers. You should collect the “Computer Networking Components” from different sources and connect to each other with the “Computer Networking Components” in your Computer.

Network interface card or Network adapter

“Network Interface Card” is an Expandable Board just like as Sound Card, a Video Card in your Computer. Usually, the “Network Interface Card” will be attached to the “Null Slot” of the “Computer Motherboard” and your Computer will be compatible for doing the “Computer Networking” in your Computer. Usually, “Computer Networking” uses the “Motherboard PCI Slot” and contains the “Networking Features” for doing the “Computer Networking” in your Computer. “Computer Networking Adapter” or “Network Interface Card” helps to connect your all Computers.

Network media

“Network Media” refers to Cable, Telephone Wire, Wireless Links etc. These “Network Media” will connect your all Computers and Devices for doing “Computer Networking” in your Computer.

Network operating system

You need a “Network Operating System” will help you to connect all Computers to each other’s perfectly.

Network Switch/Hub

“Network Hub” creates interaction with the Computer and Device for “Transferring Data” to the “Computer Network” in “Star Topology”. All “Computer Network’s Twisted Pair Cable” are attached to this “Network Hub”. The “Network Hub” attachment Cable quantity depends on the “Network Hub Port”. Usually, you can buy 4 Port, 8 Port, 16 Port, 32 Port “Network Hub” from the “Computer Shop”. Here, “4 Port Hub” means, you can connect 4 pieces of Computers and Devices will be connected at a time. If you want much more “Network Ports, that time, you can attach the “Network Hubs” to each other to get many “Network Ports” for doing the “Computer Networking”. Usually, you need an individual “Power Supply” for using the “Network Hub”. You can understand the situation by seeing the “Indicator” of “Network Hub”. “Network Hub Transmission Speed” is different one to another “Network Hub Devices”.

Networking cable

“Computer Networking Cable” helps you to connect your Computer and other devices to each other for doing the “Computer Networking” in your Computer. Usually, “Coaxial Cable” and “Twisted Pair Cable” are used for doing the “Computer Networking” in the Computer.

i) 10 base 2

It uses the “Co-axial Cable”.

Its “Transmission Speed” is 10 Mbps (Mega Bit Per Second).

Computer and other Devices are connected to each other with this Cable in the

same “Networking Line”. That means, “Bus Topology” and “Ring Topology” use this “Network Cable”.

 ii) 10 base T

It uses the “Twisted Pair Cable”.

Its “Transmission Speed” is 10 Mbps (Mega Bit Per Second).

Usually it uses the “Network Hub”. That means, “Star Topology” use this “Network Cable”.

 iii) 100 base T

It uses the “Twisted Pair Cable”.

Its “Transmission Speed” is 100 mbps (Mega Bit Per Second).

Usually it uses the “Network Hub”. That means, “Star Topology” use this “Network Cable”.

Connector

“Network Interface Card” or “Network Hub” is connected to the “Network Cable Head” by using “Connector”.

 i) T connector

It is like a “T” of “The English Alphabet” and is used with the “Co-axial Cable”. It is also used as the “BNC Port” of the “Network Interface Card”. You must use the “Terminal” to make its connection perfectly.

ii) RJ45 connector

It is like the “Telephone Line Connector RJ11”. Its size is big. It can connect “8 Cable Lines” at a time. It is used for the “Network Interface Card RJ45 Connector Port”. It is also used as the “Network Hub”. You can buy these “Connectors” individually from the “Computer Shop”.

Network crimping tool

You must use the “Network Crimping Tool” to attach the “Connector” with the “Network Cable Head”. Then, you can use it to the “Networking Port” for doing “Computer Networks”.

Cable Tester

A cable tester is used to check the new and old cable's fault.
